초록: The purpose of these lectures is 1) to introduce a simple type of geometric space with a lot of structure, so-called toric surfaces; 2) to consider curves in toric surfaces and their associated so-called tropical curves; 3) to introduce machine learning techniques to study them. The latter is meant as an illustration of how machine learning can be applied to the study of combinatorial objects.
